You do not have to configure a practice presence for OpenAnimal to be useful to you. Clients can bring better questions and a clearer account of life at home without your team setting anything up.

In OpenVet, you will be able to structure your OpenAnimal presence and add your own guidance over time. As you choose to personalize it, your clients will see more of your practice's perspective in the support they receive. This capability is optional.

Using OpenAnimal does not automatically connect a pet parent to your practice or mean you have approved its answers. AI can be wrong. Diagnosis, prescribing, and changes to treatment remain with the treating veterinarian.

Is OpenAnimal replacing the veterinarian?

Are you kidding? We're doing the opposite. Every AI out there seems to be adding confusion to veterinary medicine and to pet parents. Shouldn't animal AI be developed with the veterinarian in mind? That's what we're doing. We hope to help pet parents identify problems earlier, understand why their vet made certain decisions, and bring more trust to the profession. Diagnosis, prescribing, and changes to treatment remain with the treating veterinarian. An AI answer is not a veterinary examination.

Does veterinary guidance mean you review every AI answer?

No. We are building ways for veterinary instructions to inform the AI. That is different from a veterinarian personally reviewing or approving each response. Owners should be able to tell the difference.

Will this create another inbox for my practice?

We are designing the connection with practices so that the owner's questions do not imply a promise of continuous monitoring or an immediate reply from the clinic. Clear expectations about contact and follow-up are part of that work.

Does it connect to my practice software?

Ask us about your setup. We are not promising automatic synchronization with every practice system. Access to records and sharing need to be clear before a practice relies on a connection.
